At Fort Worth Obstetrics & Gynecology, we use ultrasounds to monitor your pregnancy or investigate the underlying causes of gynecological issues. This imaging technology lets us view your entire reproductive system to diagnose conditions or confirm that you’re in good health.

What To Expect

1. Consultation

Your specialist will sit down with you to learn more about you and any symptoms you may have. If you are pregnant, we may review your medical information and answer any questions or concerns you might have.

2. Ultrasound

Your ultrasound technician will first apply a gel to the skin to allow the sound waves to pass easily through tissue. Then, they will move the handheld device over the area being examined. It’s completely painless and it usually takes around 20 to 30 minutes to complete.

3. Results

Our team will review the ultrasound images and follow up with you about your results. If there are any more appointments or treatments needed, we will let you know based on that information.

4. Next Steps

Some types of conditions may require a follow-up ultrasound. If you are pregnant, we typically conduct a second ultrasound later in the pregnancy to confirm that the baby is developing normally.
